Disposal of 100% of Repsol Italia S.p.A. to Tamoil Italia S.p.A.
On April 14th, 2021, Repsol S.A., the Spanish Oil & Gas company, signed an agreement for the disposal of 100% of Repsol Italia S.p.A. to Tamoil S.p.A., one of the key players of the Italian fuel retail market.
Repsol entered the service station sector in Italy back in 2004 with the acquisition of 45 sites, a network that grew especially from 2011 onwards. Repsol Italia today operates both in the retail business – with a network of 275 service stations and a 7th market position in terms of number of facilities and sales volume – and in the wholesale business.
This transaction is part of Repsol's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, which aims to focus on geographic areas with the greatest competitive advantages.
Mediobanca acted as sole financial advisor to Repsol during all the phases of the transaction, involving the design, structuring and execution of the entire process.
