Gian Luca Sichel began his career working in the research department of the RAS (Allianz) Group, before moving on to McKinsey & Co as a consultant. He also held leadership roles in the retail division of Barclays Bank PLC and the risk management area of Clarima (Unicredit Group).

Gian Luca Sichel joined Compass as General Manager in 2008 and became CEO in 2010 after successfully managing the merger process between Compass and Linea.

Gian Luca Sichel became CEO of Mediobanca Premier – formerly CheBanca! S.p.A. - in 2013, successfully driving the growth and repositioning of the company through external and organic development.
