Corporate & Investment Banking was where Mediobanca started from and is the heart of our operations.

Since the Bank was founded in 1946, we have been helping Italian companies to grow, offering them bespoke services and some of the most sophisticated solutions available on financial markets: from advisory to lending, from capital markets to specialty finance.

Our 2023-26 Strategic Plan “One Brand-One Culture” leverages on the distinctiveness of our business model and our historical strength to ensure growth for the Corporate & Investment Banking area. In the future, the CIB Division will be increasingly capital-light, international and synergic with Wealth Management.

There are two main priorities for development:

• Our Private & Investment Banking model, which, through the synergies generated through the co-operation between the CIB and WM bankers, allows us to provide clients and entrepreneurs with a product and service offering that addresses both their personal and corporate needs. This model, which only Mediobanca is able to offer effectively in Italy, is a competitive advantage for us, especially in Italy, where the backbone of the country’s capitalistic system is made up primarily of outstanding family-owned/managed Medium-Sized Enterprises.
• A more extensive and increasingly diversified European footprint, which confirms our position as bank of choice for mid and large corporates in Italy, France and Spain. We have branch offices in Paris, New York, Madrid, London, Luxembourg and Frankfurt. In recent years we have consolidated our position in European markets through our strategic partnership with Messier et Associés in France, and have established our credentials in advisory services for the Tech and Digital sector with the acquisition of Arma Partners.

In FY 2023-24 we have confirmed our position as advisor of choice, participating in some of the most important deals announced in Italy and in some major M&A initiatives at European level.
